The North Sea Dementia Group is a network of persons working in dementia care across Europe. They all work in organisations that aim to improve dementia care in their country by making bridges between practice, research and policy. An annual small-scale three-day meeting is organised to exchange and discuss developments in dementia care and both good and disappointing practices. The core aim of our group is to have inspiration flowing between countries.
Examples of ideas that “travelled” from country to country are the summer camps for children and partners of persons with young onset dementia (from Norway to Flanders and the Netherlands), the focus on primary prevention (from Flanders to Norway, Germany, the Netherlands and Luxembourg) and the focus on e.g. dementia and diversity or the topic of dementia friendly hospitals.
